NGO supports 7,000 vulnerable children in Benue

Jireh Doo Foundation (JDF) a non-governmental organisation in Benue state has supported about 7,000 vulnerable children in different categories of needs over the past 10 years of its existence.
National coordinator of the Foundation, Ms. Josephine Habba said at a press conference in Makurdi to mark its 10th anniversary that the support rendered to the vulnerable children included educational, nutritional, healthcare delivery and economic empowerment.
According to Habba, the organisation within the period also successfully reached over 30,500 persons with HIV counselling and testing through its community outreaches, as well as 24,000 other persons with prevention for students and out-of-school youths.

She expressed worry over the increasing cases of child abuse in the state and said the organisation has been intervening through its single parents programme. She reiterated the foundation’s determination to restore hope and confidence to the vulnerable people in the society.
Habba expressed JDF’s readiness to work assiduously to bridge the educational gap between urban and rural communities through the establishment of schools for the less-privileged.
